Matthew Stratton
Matt has been a corporate Solicitor since qualifying in 1999, and became a Partner at an international city firm in 2014. He joined Birketts in September 2023 as a Partner in our Corporate Team in the London office.
Matt’s experience covers a diverse range of sectors, including shipping, energy, logistics, PR, tech and real estate.
His clients include start-ups, owner managed businesses, international groups and public companies.
Matt has many years experience of cross-border transactions, and has acted for clients across the globe. A key speciality in recent years has been acting for clients in the shipping industry on international joint ventures and acting for clients in the transportation and energy industries on international M&A activity.
As well as domestic and international M&A and joint ventures, Matt advises on group restructurings, corporate governance and director duties, fund raisings and investments, commercial contracts and technology transfers. He also advises overseas companies where their preferred route to market is to set-up in the UK from scratch.
