Alex is a Legal Director in our International Private Client Team, based in our Cambridge office.
Alex’s clients include overseas trustees as well as internationally mobile high net worth families. He specialises in advising on the application of the UK’s tax, trust and succession rules to international families and structures. He has a particular interest in advising on the UK tax treatment of complex overseas and multi-jurisdictional structures where UK assets or beneficiaries are involved.
Alex regularly advises clients on the UK residence and domicile rules, and the impact that these rules have on their personal tax and estate planning positions. In recent years, Alex has also provided advice on a number of niche tax issues, including the UK’s Sovereign Immunity rules and the application of the taxation provisions of the UK-EU Withdrawal agreement.
