Yasmin Metcalfe
Yasmin joined Birketts in July 2024 and has over 14 years’ experience in the management, taxation and administration of trusts. Her experience includes:
- Advising trustees and beneficiaries on technical trust and tax issues, as well as their duties and responsibilities.
- Preparation of tax and compliance reports.
- Management of employee benefit trusts (EBTs) and other incentive schemes.
- Preparation of trust accounts and trust tax returns.
- Speaking at industry events on topical issues relating to her practice.
- Inheritance tax advice and compliance.
As well as managing trusts, Yasmin has an interest in compliance reporting and is an author for the Law Society in respect of guidance on the Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) agreements.
Yasmin also has a particular interest in the governance of trust corporations and advises clients on the establishment of the same.
Yasmin is a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians and has subsidiary certificate in offshore finance and administration.
Before joining Birketts, Yasmin worked at a legal 100 firm based in Bristol, managing a portfolio of trusts, as well as tax and compliance reporting.
Yasmin’s career highlight to-date has been advising high ranking military officials on a complex, high value, charitable trust.
Outside of work, Yasmin is a keen cyclist and a Bath Rugby supporter. She also enjoys running around after her two small children who keep her on her toes!
